A disclaimer before you continue reading: this article is not a tutorial on how to repair a pen drive. I am writing this article to help you fix your cracked/broken pen drive, but if your pen drive doesn't have any cracks or broken parts, or if it does but there's no need for a repair, then just use the download links in the download section to get the software itself. This post is meant only as a guide. If you have any questions or encounter problems when repairing your pen drive, then please consult with an expert at your local computer repair shop by giving them the serial number of your device and ask them what they think it needs in order for it to work again. They might know something that I do not. Problems that this post fixes: "Not Recognized", "USB Device Not Recognized", "This USB device has malfunctioned", or any other problem that makes your pen drive unrecognizable by the computer. Things you need for this repair: 1) A cracked/broken pen drive – this means any case of a pen drive with part(s) of it broken off and/or cracked so badly so as to be no longer usable. The bigger and more severe the damage is, the harder it will be to repair, but I'll try my best to give you all an idea on how to go about using the tools needed for repair. 2) A USB port to your computer. Steps to repair your pen drive. 1) The first step is to get the repair software for your device. Go to the Download link above and grab it for whichever device you own. This will be used to scan your device and find out how damaged it really is, then allow you to see which parts need fixing so you can buy the right tools for the job, and finally help you save all your data by bringing up a list of files on your pen drive so that you can back them up before continuing any further with the process of repairing it. This program can also be used on flash drives, external hard drives, flash memory cards, etc. that have some sort of hardware damage on them. 2) Now that you have the downloading software, open it up and go to the Repair button at the top, then choose which drive you are fixing. After that, click "Start" on the bottom left hand corner of your computer's screen. You'll be taken to a list of all your drives, so scroll down until you find the one with a crack or broken part on it. This is usually on top so go there first so that by doing so you'll save more time looking for that particular device after scanning all your devices. If you see a message on top of it that says something like "Not recognized by computer" or "USB Device Not Recognized", just click on Start and your pen drive will be scanned. Select the one you're fixing from the list of devices and then a new window will pop up that will say something along the lines of "Searching for Hardware" or something to that effect. As soon as it does this, your device will have been scanned and all your information from it on the screen so far will be saved on a new tab on the bottom right hand corner. cfa1e77820
